For example, if we are contracted to repair or replace a roof we donate used shingles to be converted to asphalt and new roads.  This may seem to have only a minor benefit to the environment but it actually has quite an impact.  For every home or building project it keeps an average of 3 tons of roofing materials out of local landfills as well as helping to provide recycled materials for 50 feet of new road.

We also take great pride in our focus on material optimization in our projects.  This means we use environmentally-friendly materials that not only reduce the impact on our environment but also save our clients’ money in the long term.  All of the green initiatives we have implemented in regard to materials have helped us to earn the GAF Certified Green Roofer designation.

At Feazel we are specialists when it comes to all sorts of residential home improvements.  We offer quality work and a customer service driven culture for roof repairs or replacement, windows, siding, chimneys, masonry, skylights and insulation.  But perhaps you did not know that we are also experts when it comes to a sometimes overlooked but very important exterior home system: gutters.

It is always a good idea as winter ends and spring begins to perform preventative maintenance or repairs to your gutters.  It might even be time to replace some or all of them.  If your gutters are not functioning properly, then you are at risk for potentially costly damage to your roof and/or foundation.  The cost of maintaining, repairing or replacing faulty gutters is one of those lesser costs of homeownership that pays off big by avoiding more costly repairs.

The most important thing to remember with gutters is to make sure they are clean from all debris including leaves, granules from shingles, bird nests, etc.  Improper drainage is the enemy.  As well, making sure that winter ice has not loosened fasteners or caused sealant failures is also important.

The first step is to go to our website, www.feazelinc.com, and click on Residential Home Services.  Locate the link for Design Your Own Home and create your account.  Once you have created an account the fun begins!  

After getting signed in you have the choice of using the sample homes that are available or uploading a photo of your own home.  Of course you can “play in the sand” with the sample homes until you get the hang of it and then upload your own picture.

Once you are fully engaged in the app you can select areas of the home to design with window options, siding options and roof options including colors.  You can even share the results with family and friends for their feedback.  Plus, your Feazel professional can estimate costs and provide final pricing once you have exactly what you envision.

Feazel Lends a Hand to Cincinnati Children with Roof Donation

Feazel has been providing residential home services to residents of Ohio since 1988.  Homeowners trust us to provide the best customer service and stress-free buying experience when it comes to roofing, gutters, windows, siding, chimneys, masonry, skylights and insulation.  We also take a great deal of pride in making a positive impact in the communities we serve.

Recently we became aware of a need that we could fulfill for the Cincinnati Early Learning Center (CELC) at their Harrison facility.  Harrison is the original location for CELC, which has a total of 6 locations, and it is the oldest of these facilities having been built over 33 years ago. The Learning Center was experiencing leaks inside the building and we wanted to help.

As a non-profit organization, CELC has limited resources and any costs for upgrades to their buildings result in less resources being available to dedicate to serving the needs of the children who attend the Learning Centers.  We did not want the CELC to use the budget they had for services to their children for anything other than the purpose of early childhood learning which helps our communities in so many ways now and in the future.

Upon inspecting the roof we were somewhat surprised to find out that the problems were actually worse than what was expected.  Instead of just repairs we found the entire roof and gutter system was in need of replacement.   Feazel and our employees donated the time, labor and materials for a full replacement of both which will last for years into the future.  What a great way to make a difference!
